Fyodor Karamazov is a squandering and corrupt father who cruelly tyrannizes his sons. In this chronicle of an inevitable crime, Fyodor Karamazov is murdered. The question is not simply who committed the murder, but what was the motive, and who bears the moral responsibility for what happened.

At first glance, this is a gripping and provocative story of sex, money, and patricide. However, it is an entire universe, encompassing some of humanity’s oldest myths about family. Something is profoundly rotten within the Karamazov household, a fractured family haunted by the memories of dead mothers. But if you look at them - you may recognize yourselves.

Like us, the Karamazovs long to banish God from the heavens, yet desperately continue searching for Him. Like us, they try to escape guilt, only to find themselves drawn ever deeper into it. One moment they embrace life; the next, they curse it and send everyone to hell. Just like us.

In Dostoevsky’s final novel, the pinnacle achievement of his literary career, God and the Devil wage their eternal battle, but the battlefield is the human soul. Adults dance on a knife’s edge while pale children dream of setting the world on fire. When there is nothing left to lose, is everything permitted?

Will children forever pay for the sins of their fathers? Can we break free from the cycle of violence handed down from one generation to the next? And, above all, after so much violence, is redemption still possible? Can reconciliation still be hoped for?
